Recurring Donations – Sustaining Donors

Recurring donations to GEC provide consistent, year-round support for their mission to promote the joy of horses to a diverse community, regardless of income or ability in the local community, including Baltimore City. These ongoing contributions are critical for ongoing outreach activities, daily care of their resident horses and the maintenance of their facility within Gunpowder Falls State Park. All donations are tax deductible.

Other ways to give

Scholarship Fund

Donations to the GEC’s Scholarship Fund directly support the organization’s mission to provide the joy of horses to a diverse community, regardless of income or ability. Established in 2025, the fund provides financial assistance for riding lessons to the target audience of families with limited income and/or differently-abled students who cannot get coverage of lessons through other channels. Capital Fund – Indoor Arena

Donations to the GEC’s capital project directly fund the design and construction of a long-awaited indoor riding arena, transforming the facility into a year-round resource for the Baltimore community.

Impact of Your Contribution

Your support addresses several critical operational and mission-based needs:

  • Year-Round Operations: Currently, GEC loses an average of 68 days per year due to inclement weather. An indoor arena eliminates these cancellations, ensuring consistent education for riders regardless of the season.
  • Expansion of Therapeutic Programs: The controlled, weather-protected environment is essential for safely offering therapeutic equine activities, allowing GEC to serve individuals with disabilities even during winter months, as well as in a distraction free environment.
  • Financial Sustainability: By reducing weather-related revenue losses, the arena puts the non-profit on “stable footing,” allowing for the long-term preservation of its 20-acre facility within Gunpowder Falls State Park.
  • Enhanced Safety and Training: An indoor space provides superior, consistent footing and a distraction-free environment, which reduces the risk of injury for both horses and riders while accelerating skill development.

Material Donations

Every little bit of donated equipment helps our bottom line as well as our ability to provide for our horses in the best way possible. See our wish list here. Donations are tax deductible.

One Time Donations

One-time gifts to GEC directly fund the care of its herd and the expansion of community-focused programs. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, the center relies on these contributions to maintain its mission of providing equestrian education and therapeutic activities to a diverse community.
