At Graham Equestrian Center, we believe that everyone should have the opportunity to experience the joy of horseback riding, regardless of financial circumstances. In fact, that’s built into our mission as a nonprofit educational organization that promotes the joy of horses to a diverse community, regardless of income or ability, through riding and therapeutic horsemanship activities while preserving the open space of Gunpowder Falls State Park.
Thanks to generous grants and donations, the GEC Scholarship Fund—established in 2025—helps make this possible by providing scholarships for riding lessons (including adaptive lessons) to those who need financial assistance. Scholarships can cover part or all of the cost of lessons, depending on the need.
Each scholarship supports one participant for weekly lessons over an 8-week session. The timing of the session depends on when the scholarship is awarded and the current lesson schedule. Once awarded, recipients (or a parent/guardian) will be responsible for scheduling lessons through GEC’s scheduling portal (we’ll provide clear instructions on how to do that).
To ensure we can help as many riders as possible, scholarship recipients must maintain excellent attendance. If transportation is a concern, we encourage you to reach out to GEC before applying—we may be able to help.
We’re excited to welcome more riders into our community and look forward to seeing you in the saddle!
